Staff Accountant

‍About the Client: Our client operates in the global mobility and relocation services industry, helping businesses support the movement and placement of employees around the world through destination assistance, temporary housing solutions, and related workforce mobility services. They serve a broad range of corporate clients with structured, process-driven support for destination, housing, and relocation needs across international markets.

The Role: We are looking for a high-performing Staff Accountant who doesn’t just “close the books,” but strengthens the financial foundation of a scaling organization.

This role is critical to ensuring financial accuracy, operational discipline, and reporting integrity across international operations. You will own key components of the monthly close process, maintain audit-ready financial records, and actively contribute to process optimization and global standardization initiatives.

This is a high-accountability, high-growth role for someone who takes pride in precision, thinks critically, and operates with ownership.

What You’ll Be Responsible For:

1. Monthly Close & Reporting Discipline

Execute assigned components of the month-end close process with accuracy and discipline
- Prepare timely and high-quality monthly reporting packages for leadership review
- Ensure all financial data is complete, reconciled, and fully supported
- Proactively identify discrepancies and resolve issues before reporting deadlines

2. General Ledger Integrity
- Prepare and review reconciliations across corporate general ledger accounts, including:
 - Intercompany transactions and eliminations
 - VAT and indirect tax accounts
 - Accruals, prepaids, and payroll-related accounts
 - Fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Maintain clean, structured, and audit-ready supporting documentation
- Strengthen internal controls and documentation standards

3. Journal Entries & Technical Accuracy
- Prepare monthly journal entries (depreciation, amortization, payroll allocations, accruals, eliminations, etc.)
- Support technical accounting research and draft clear documentation for complex matters
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies

4. Audit & Tax Support
- Provide timely and well-organized documentation to support external audits
- Collaborate with the Tax Manager on annual corporate tax filingsAssist in the preparation of annual financial statements and statutory reporting

5. Process Optimization & Scalability
- Identify opportunities to streamline and standardize reconciliation processes
- Contribute to the development and implementation of global accounting policies
- Support automation initiatives and system improvements
- Help elevate accounting operations from functional to best-in-class

6. Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure clarity in financial data
- Communicate professionally and effectively across departments
- Support ad hoc financial initiatives and special projects as needed

What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 2+ years of hands-on accounting experience in a fast-paced environment
- Solid understanding of US GAAP fundamentals and month-end close mechanics
- Proven experience with general ledger reconciliations and journal entries
- Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, data validation, structured reporting)
- High level of ownership and accountability
- Structured, analytical thinker with exceptional attention to detail
- Ability to manage deadlines independently without constant supervision
- Clear and confident English communication (written and verbal)
- Professional maturity and discretion when handling financial data

Nice to Have:
- Experience working with US-based companies or international entities
- Exposure to intercompany accounting and eliminations
- Experience supporting audits or tax preparation processes
- Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Xero, or similar
- Experience participating in process improvement or automation initiatives
